Oracle Action Pack
Automate common actions for Oracle RDBMS
Databases
Oracle Database (commonly referred to as Oracle RDBMS or simply as Oracle) is an object-relational database management system produced and marketed by Oracle Corporation. Larry Ellison and two friends and former co-workers, Bob Miner and Ed Oates, started a consultancy called Software Development Laboratories (SDL) in 1977. SDL developed the original version of the Oracle software. The name Oracle comes from the code-name of a CIA-funded project Ellison had worked on while previously employed by Ampex.
The database actions cover basic deployment scenarios around Oracle databases.
You can for example execute arbitrary
SQL-scripts on your SQL server(s) like to run your migration scripts, DB schema creation script etc, using the generic runbook
functions. The Oracle-runbook functions allow you to execute some basic, recurring tasks during deployments.
Available Actions:
- Create/Drop Tablespace
- Create/Drop User
- Grant/Revoke Rights
- Create/Import Dump
- Execute SQLPlus script
Supported Databases
The runbook functions use standard SQL queries executed over a JDBC connection to the database. The following system was tested:
- Oracle 11g
- Oracle 19c
